Have you ever wondered how celebrities, public figures, and pretty much anyone with a substantial social media following make money off of their Instagram posts?

This mother of an Internet sensation has revealed how Instagram provides for their family and what happens when working with sponsored companies.

Katie Stauffer is the mother of the adorable 3-year-old Mila and has a growing audience of over 3.7 million followers on her Instagram page.

Katie has been posting hilarious, cute, and creative content on her Instagram and YouTube of Mila with some special appearances made by Mila’s twin, Emma.

You might recognize Mila from her Makeup Tutorial video on YouTube, where she demonstrates a ‘kid-friendly’ makeup look on her twin sister.

So how exactly does Katie make money? Brand deals and sponsorships are going to be the answers here!

If you’re an Instagram user, sometimes you stumble across an account that has either ‘#ad’ or includes the phrase, ‘Paid Partnership with (brand name).’

The reason why Instagram enabled this feature is to carefully correlate with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which strives to promote “truth in advertising.”

Katie, who was previously an escrow officer, has been posting creative content of her daughters full-time since September of 2017. She said in an Instagram video that they have so much fun and love all of their followers!

While Katie won’t reveal the exact amount she makes per post, Buzzfeed spoke to a man named Evan Asano, who knows a thing or two about influencer marketing. Evan gave his best guess as to how much her posts could average.

“Instagrammers of her size can get paid anywhere from $10,000–$20,000 per post, depending on the brand and campaign/partnership. Top Instagrammers with millions of followers can make $500,000 or more in annual income from brand sponsorships.”

Katie’s daughters have definitely had some cool opportunities happen to them since going viral.

Like the time that Emma met Emma Roberts…

And Mila even made a Television appearance!

While some may think of this entire concept as ‘exploitation’ or ‘greediness’ – it’s 2018, people. Social media has evolved into so much more and there are so many capabilities in the last few years.

Katie even said in a video that Mila will ask her to make videos and whenever Mila is done, they stop filming.

When it comes to parenting styles, people should not feel the need to tell a parent how exactly they should act or how they should raise their children. In this incredibly ‘quick-to-judge’ world, I think it’s time for everyone to educate themselves and think before they speak.

This family has achieved so many great things and I think the future of this family will be even more incredible!
