It has been statistically proven that having a dog as a child gives you a lower chance of suffering from severe anxiety, and dogs are by far the most frequent type of pet used for therapy purposes. But how exactly do dogs boost our mood and help us perform better?

A study conducted by the International Journal of Workplace Health Management stated that workers who took their dogs to the office had lower stress levels throughout the day with a higher rate of job satisfaction as well. How do dogs tap into our psyche and reduce our stress? Animal geographer Dr. Daniel Allen stated on the topic that dogs connect with us on a deeper level by “offering companionship, positive associations and unconditional love.” By doing so, are minds are put at ease and we are able to think more clearly and with greater satisfaction.
