Earlier this week, national and world-famous chicken sandwich chain Chick-Fil-A announced that they will now be serving macaroni and cheese in all of their restaurants, effective immediately. The American-favorite side is the first introduction to Chick-Fil-A’s permanent menu since 2016, and will be offered in both children and adult sizes. But just how will Chick-Fil-A’s take on mac and cheese stand up against their classic menu offerings?

As Amanda Norris, Chick-Fil-A’s Executive Director of Menu and Packaging, explained in an interview with Business Insider, “We’re very excited about this because we think it’s going to be meaningful all day long. Kids can get this instead of fries with their kid’s meal or instead of fruit if they choose, and we think it’ll be big for dinner, too, because it is a little more hearty.”
While the mac and cheese is the first introduction to the permanent menu, it is certainly not the last, as Chick-Fil-A announced that they have been testing a plethora of new menu items in an effort to diversify the chicken-heavy menu the fast food chain currently offers.
