You Had One Job!

Everyone knows that when it comes to the work grind, it’s inevitable that you’ll have a little slip-up here or there when you’re tuckered out or just not thinking straight for whatever reason.

However, sometimes the “slip-up” turns out to be such a glaring error that it’s totally apparent to every single person who sees it. When that’s the case, it’s less of a slip-up and more of a major gaffe that could (and maybe should) get the culprit fired.

When you see a mistake of this magnitude, all you can do is shake your head, chuckle, and say, “You had one job!”

In this case, the epic fail was on the part of the proofreader for this children’s book, which appears to teach kids basic numerals by showing the number on the right page and then depicting that amount of a random item on the left page.

Should be easy, right? Just make sure there are no typos, and, above all else, make sure the numeral and number of items across from it match. But when it came to the number 5, someone served up an unbelievable botch job by neglecting to notice that the number 5 is blatantly matched with an image of 6 bananas! Should have done a recount, huh?
