You Had One Job!

Everyone knows that when it comes to the work grind, it’s inevitable that you’ll have a little slip-up here or there when you’re tuckered out or just not thinking straight for whatever reason, but sometimes those little mess ups are actually a bigger deal than expected!

This one is especially brutal and cringe-worthy because the potentially-spoiled surprise party was for the person’s mother. I just pray that they were able to intercept the package before their mother saw the note, because throwing a surprise party for one’s mother sounds like one of the most wholesome, heartfelt gestures out there. If you can’t throw your mom a surprise party without it getting ruined by the delivery company…nothing is sacred anymore.

Let’s say the company pleas ignorance and says that any special “delivery instructions” are always printed on the box’s label, so they claim it’s the person’s fault. Still, you’d think that someone at some stage of the shipping process would have caught it and at least crossed the message out with a Sharpie or something. If this is truly a symptom of the automation of everything, then I for one do NOT welcome our robot overlords if it means ruining innocent mothers’ surprise parties!
