Here’s something wholesome to get you all through the week.
On November 3, 2019, a worker at a Birmingham, Alabama, Waffle House was on his own serving 30 people as the only employee on shift. The worker, known only as Ben, was at the end of his rope dealing with so many people.
However, in a post that later went viral, various customers hopped behind the counter and started helping Ben with his orders, with some making coffee and others helping with dishes.
In an interview with the today show Waffle House director of PR and external affairs described the situation, saying, “We had two associates scheduled to leave, however due to a communication mix-up, their relief did not show up promptly. That left Ben, our cook, alone in the restaurant with hungry customers. He worked the grill and got the orders out. We are also very thankful for Ben, who kept the restaurant open. He is a testament to our Waffle House culture by always putting the customers first.”
