A Twitter user recalls the time she went on a date with the General Manager of the Times Square Olive Garden.
I went on a date last night and the guy meekly shared that he used to be THE GENERAL MANAGER FOR THE TIMES SQUARE OLIVE GARDEN.

Ah, love and breadsticks. I can’t name a better combination! When Joe agreed to go on a date with a former General Manager of Olive Garden, he surely didn’t expect it to take the turn it did. Once his date brought up Olive Garden, the questions started flowing. Like every chain restaurant, Olive Garden is a hot spot for people (and tourists) to gather. But never in a million years would Joe, nor us for that matter, expect a knife fight to take place at an Olive Garden.
Here’s how things went.
Joe did not disappoint. He started off with some simple Q&A to ease into things.
Olive Garden: We’re out of breadsticks.
Every customer: No.
The Times Square Olive Garden must be one of the busiest branches of the chain restaurant, drawing in tourists from all over the world. For foreign tourists and visitors, running out of breadsticks is an acceptable shock. For local tourists, not so much. They should understand the difference in demand. But I guess there truly are Karens everywhere.
So far things seemed pretty tame. But then Joe asked the real question, “what’s the weirdest thing that ever happened?” and things got, well, weird.
So there you have it. A knife fight at an Olive Garden is still a better shift to work than one where they run out of breadsticks. As for the success of the date?
We’d say it went pretty well.
