Have you ever wondered what goes on in the mysterious Amazon warehouses that store all of the soon-to-be-yours books, furniture, and toys? Well, Imgur user simplyTrey tells his best stories from working in the retail giant's treasure troves, and there's far more robot warfare than expected..
"Here are some of my stories from when I worked for Amazon! Hope you guys like them."

"So near the front of the building, Amazon has this big board. We called it the wall of shame. It had dozens of posters with all sorts of things employees had done to get fired. One guy snuck 4 cellphones into his socks and gloves, and tried leaving with them. Somehow he forgot that every single day after your shift, you go through the metal detectors."

"So there are these robots that lift up the giant shelves and drive them over to your station. The slower you go, the less robots will come in a given time. The faster you go, the faster they come. They try to keep up with your pace. After going really fast, over a dozen robots got confused and rammed into each other, causing multiple shelves to collapse into the aisles. Thankfully I was not harmed."

"This was a sad one, but Amazon is crazy strict when it comes to doing anything remotely punishable. They pretty much will fire you for anything, including stealing a coworker’s lunch. Sad thing is he probably could have asked for it and the coworker would have gladly shared."

"Ok America, you guys order tons of weird s$!t. DO you really need 20 pounds of freeze dried garlic pork rinds? Or a gallon of liquid strawberry flavored laxative? I definitely do not think you needed all of those sex toys. Especially the 20 inch long… well… you know who you are. The sex swing was a nice order though."

"After a half day, some of the machines malfunctioned. So the higher ups decided to let a few people off early. After we volunteered our names, we went back to work. 5 hours later they come up to me and let me go home. With 5 minutes left…. yeah."

"So this guy sucked at his job, and he was told that after he finished up for the day he would not be coming back to work. He smiled and said ok, then walked back to his station. About 10 minutes later the warehouse is shut down, and the man was seen surfing one of the robots at high speed down the warehouse floors. Also being chased by multiple guards. (Told to me by my boss and later by a few fellow workers, so I cannot verify this 🙂 )"

"After much personal debate and various other stuff, I walked into work and quit. Amazon does not let you bring your cellphone into work so I had to leave it in my car. Once I got back inside my car after quitting I saw a voicemail from Amazon. They were congratulating me on my promotion to full time employee. FML."

"So yeah, brake rotors are really really heavy. Also they were always either on the very bottom shelf, or the very top. My boss came over one time and asked why I was taking so long to send the robot away. F'ing brake rotors."

"My inner child would cry every time I saw a huge lego set come by. That and unreleased video games or really expensive things I could never get. I did like holding them before I sent them down the conveyor belt though, kind of like letting my dreams slip through my fingers."

"Haha I hate laughing about this one, but everyone learned this on day one. Do not walk into the robot field, stay behind the line and call for robot tech instead. But this dude thought he could make it. Then wham! A robot smashed into him. Poor Steve, or Craig. I can't remember.
