These Are WAY Healthier Things To Do Before Bed Besides Netflix

It's easy to lay in bed and watch a few episodes of your favorite show on Netflix. But, we all know that one more episode turns in to five pretty quick. Doing this will leave you tired and restless in the morning, which is never a good thing. Try a few of these 15 relaxing activities before you hit the hay — you'll thank yourself in the morning!

Take A Relaxing Bath Or Shower

You don't have time to relax in the bath or shower in the morning. Take this time to unwind and release the stress from your day. Go ahead, pamper yourself!

Write In A Journal

Writing is a very soothing activity. Jot down all the good and bad things that happened throughout your day. This will allow you to reflect on the positives.

Talk On The Phone

It can be a simple phone call to your parents or a friend. Call to say "Hi" or vent about that annoying co-worker you always have to deal with. Talking out how you feel will make you feel more at ease.

Give Yourself A Massage

Giving yourself a massage is actually not hard, and you'll feel incredibly relaxed after. There are various techniques you can use. 

Challenge Your Brain

Give your brain some exercise! Do a few crosswords or a sudoku before bed to give your brain a chance to build itself in a fun way. Depending on how hard you work, this can make it easier to fall asleep.

Work On A Puzzle

Pick one out that will challenge you, and you will be rewarded for your effort.

Organize Something

Whether it be your closet or a bookshelf. Organizing something will leave you with a sense of accomplishment and put your mind at ease.

Make Some Crafts

If you spend hours on Pintrest anyway, why not make something for yourself? Find a craft project that interests you and take it in small steps each night to wind down in creative fashion.

Lay Out Your Clothes For The Morning

Pick out what you plan on wearing in the morning and lay it out for easy access. This will allow you to make things less frantic in the morning. But mainly, this lets you sleep in a little!

Listen To A Podcast

There are thousands of podcast available on many different devices. You can learn more about a certain topic, or just kick back and listen to some comedians.. Plus, it's kind of like Netflix, but without the glaring screen that could be killing you.

Make A To-Do List For The Following Day

Plan out all the things you need to complete the following day. This will prevent your brain from constantly thinking about what's going on tomorrow, and lets you relax.

Listen To An Audiobook

Audiobooks are a great way to learn and expand your mind. Sit down in your comfortable chair and let your ears guide you.

Or Read An Actual Book

If you are more of a traditionalist, you can read the hard copy. Nothing is more relaxing than letting your mind run free with a good novel.

Play With Your Pets

This doesn't mean mindlessly petting your animal while watching television. Fully interact and play. Throw the ball around or play a quick game of hide and seek, before finishing it off with snuggle time.

Try A Little Bedtime Yoga

Yoga is a great way to get in tune with your body. And, there are certain positions you can do that help with sleep. They take about ten minutes, but will help you fall asleep faster — and deeper.
