Getting stopped by airport security is annoying, but it’s a necessary process. There are situations where people just forget what they pack in their bags or have in their pockets. These are not those situations. Check out these outrageous items people tried to take past security.
Snakes And Turtles
TSA screeners noticed some bulbous growths on a man’s legs. After pulling him aside, they discovered his pants were loaded with snakes and tortoises wrapped in nylon bags.
Guns Inside Mickey Mouse Doll
Who would ever suspect a child’s Mickey Mouse doll to be filled with guns? Thankfully, the TSA did. This Mickey Mouse is just one of many stuffed dolls that have been used in failed attempts to smuggle guns on to planes.
Swords
These two swords were found in a guitar case in Salt Lake City. We aren’t musicians, but we’re pretty sure you don’t needs swords to play the guitar.
Eels
The TSA pulled aside a passenger who was attempting to transport several different types of marine life. The passenger’s suitcase was filled with bags of fish, coral species, turtles and eels. How strange must that have been to see on the monitor!
Birds
Apparently, smuggling wildlife is a booming business. Why else would this guy wrap two pigeons in newspaper and stuff them down his pants?
Black Powder
Over 20 pounds of black powder was confiscated at Chicago Midway. While properly packaged ammo is allowed in checked bags, straight black gunpowder is not.
Razor Blades In A Scooby Doo Card
Who tries to smuggle several utility blades stuffed inside an innocent Scooby Doo card? They almost got away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling TSA agents.
Human Skull Remains
This human skull was found inside a pot of dirt being transported by a passenger. While the passenger claimed they had no idea the skull was in the dirt, they were quickly detained by the TSA.
Knife In Enchiladas
Were they eating these enchiladas, or did they pack them in a suitcase? Either way, this is just plain weird.
IPhones
This passenger was caught with over 90 iPhones taped to his body. The only question we have is: How was he going to sit on a plane for hours like that?
Marijuana In Peanut Butter
Marijuana is a common illegal substance that passengers try to smuggle on board. Folks will try anything they can to hide it — like submerging it in a jar of peanut butter.
Batman Throwing Stars
Sometimes even Batman has to travel commercial. These throwing stars were confiscated at San Diego International Airport.
Inert Claymore
What makes people think they can bring these types of items on a plane? Even though this Claymore mine was inert, it was still flagged by the TSA in California.
A Spear Gun
This spear gun was confiscated at Newark Liberty International. What’s even better — the passenger claimed he thought spear guns were ok to bring on a plane.
Bazooka Shell
The baggage area at Dallas-Fort Worth was evacuated after finding this bazooka shell in a checked suitcase. The round was immediately removed and later deemed inert.
AT4 Rocket Launcher
This AT4 rocket launcher was found inside a checked bag in Pennsylvania. We are honestly at a loss for words.
