Some People Are Heartless
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is an incredible organization, because it grants one life-long wish of a young child battling a critical illness. They’ll go to any lengths to get it done and ensure the child has a special memory they’ll forever hold dear to their heart. One Redditor named “Kaitlynn” got the opportunity to help the wish of a young girl named “Elaine” come true through work.
However, Kaitlynn would soon come to learn that some people don’t seem to care about other people’s feelings, and will do whatever they want to benefit their own needs. This came in the form of a woman named “Karen,” who made Elaine’s Make-A-Wish experience something she would never forget.

Starting To Shoot The Video
Kaitlynn’s job at a production company always gave her the opportunity to meet new people and experience new things. One such case was she got the chance to work with a young girl named Elaine, who was battling a terminal illness. Through the efforts of the Make-A-Wish foundation, Kaitlynn and her company were able to make Elaine’s wish of making a music video come true.
After reserving a picnic area in a local park, the group got to work filming the music video. Occasionally, people would wander over, asking in an annoyed voice why they were not allowed to use the picnic area. However, a simple explanation of the situation cleared everything up. Most of the people were understanding, and happy to see a young girl living out her dream.
Unfortunately, there is always one exception of this rule. This exception came in the form of a middle-aged woman named “Karen,” and her daughter who stepped over the clearly marked barricades to get to the picnic area.
She was “a mess of cheap Botox and overpriced athleisure gear,” Kaitlynn recalled. This woman was a mess alright, and Kaitlynn was about to see how messy she truly was.

They Had Written Proof
Thinking maybe she just hadn’t seen the clearly marked signs, a production assistant quickly ran over to explain to Karen this location had been reserved. However, this did absolutely nothing to derail Karen from her mission of enjoying a lovely picnic. She loudly claimed since it was a public park, she had every right to use it.
In Karen’s defense (a rarely used phrase), it was a bit inconvenient that the entire seating area was being taken up, and the only seating area in the park at that. But, Kaitlynn’s company had a permit saying they had the right to be there, and it wasn’t like they were going to be using the area for the whole day.
Luckily, this permit also gave the company permission to remove anyone causing issues. The company did not want to have to resort to that step just yet, because they did not want to upset Elaine or Karen’s young daughter.
One might be asking, “Isn’t there supposed to be a representative from the Make-A-Wish organization here to help with issues like this?” Yes, there was one there named “Sarah,” but Sarah had to deal with an issue regarding the caterer.
It’s unfortunate for Kaitlynn they didn’t have an extra set of hands to deal with this woman, as she continued to unleash her inner Karen.

Karen Only Got Crazier As The Shoot Went On
Seeing an opportunity to take revenge on the people who so wrongfully prevented her from enjoying a picnic, Karen began goading her daughter to start singing as well to ruin the music video. Her daughter was rightfully horrified by this, and refused to do so until Karen screamed so much, she had no choice but to sing to hopefully quell her insane mother’s nerves.
Sounding like a blender losing a fight to a weed-whacker, Karen’s daughter began singing an off-tune version of a song Karen was playing on her phone.
Completely fed up with this behavior (not to mention wanting to save everyone’s ears from having to listen to the demon-spawn sing), the director threatened to have Karen and her daughter removed from the park. Not one to back down (or, realize how completely wrong she was), Karen refused to walk away and upped her antics. She was now having her daughter run directly into the shoot, completely ruining every take.
Not wanting to call the police and cause a huge scene, the director ordered some crew members to keep the insane duo off the set.
Just when the crew was almost at their wit’s end, Sarah finally returned, much to everyone’s relief.

She Had To Ruin It For Everyone
Sensing Sarah was the one in charge, Karen immediately backed off, and stood quietly to the side with her daughter in tow. Since Karen wasn’t causing any issues in her midst, Sarah allowed Karen and her daughter to stay if Elaine was okay with it.
“Because Karen had a little kid with her, [Elaine] didn’t say she couldn’t watch, even though she was visibly uncomfortable at the strange audience,” Kaitlynn recalled. “She kept waving at and winking at the little girl though, who thought she was some kind of celebrity.”
Of course, this did not sit well with Karen, because she apparently hated joy. In order to try to stir some chaos, she began loudly whispering to anyone around her about how inconvenient it was the whole picnic area was being taken up by a music video. For the most part, these were people who were part of the production team. She did find one or two civilians who agreed with her, but didn’t seem to mind as much when they discovered the reason why, and even stuck around to watch.
Karen was still making her petty comments, but at this point, no one seemed to pay her any attention. It wasn’t until Elaine started her dance sequence Karen said something that caught everyone’s attention.

Karen Took It Way Too Far
“Oh God, look, it’s one of those girls who think it’s cool to pretend to be a boy. I’ll be she hasn’t stopped to consider how long it will take to grow her hair back,” Karen sneered.
Not only was this comment about Elaine’s lack of hair below the belt, but it also truly showed just how awful of a person she truly was.
The silence was deafening as everyone stared in shock at what Karen just said. People standing near Karen immediately disappeared as the tears began flowing down Elaine’s face. As Elaine ran off, Sarah immediately realized everything people were saying about Karen, and her behavior was true. Sarah and Elaine’s family launched into a verbal tirade against Karen, berating her for saying something so ugly and inconsiderate without even knowing the full story.
Karen, shaking under Sarah’s terrifying rant, finally offered to leave the area (little too late there, Kare-bear!). In true Karen fashion, she did not offer up an apology or admit she was wrong. While Karen was getting the verbal tongue lashing of the century, Elaine’s family gathered around her to cheer her up.
Not one to stay down for long, Elaine quickly cheered up and was back to filming her music video in no time. Another group of curious and supportive people soon gathered around the music set, eager to see what was going on and happy to watch a young girl live out her dreams.
Seeing how her ploy to ruin a young girl fighting a terminal illness didn’t work, Karen and her daughter sulked off, finally letting everyone have a bit of peace.
