Are you missing being around other people, but you also hate people and want to avoid them at all costs? Well this NYC restaurant has the weirdest solution for you! According to the HuffPost, Brooklyn’s Peter Luger Steakhouse teamed up with Madame Tussaud’s (yes, the wax figure place) to fill restaurant seats with eerie wax replicas of famous celebrities! This is actually a real thing that happened. I can’t believe it either.
According to Madame Tussaud’s vice-president Daniel Turtel, “[Peter Luger] thought this would be a fun, safe way to fill some of the seats that need to remain empty.”
New York City restaurant are currently only allowed to be at 35% capacity, so there is plenty of room for all your favorite human-ish celebrities to lounge! Unfortunately, the figures were only on loan for several days, but nothing is stopping Madame Tussaud’s from loaning their figures out to other restaurants. Could this be the start of a horrifying new entertainment trend?! No word yet on if this boosted sales or what guests actually thought about it. I would feel like I’m constantly being watched by the figures, there would be no escape!
Can we just take a moment to acknowledge these two people casually eating next to a horrifying depiction of Jimmy Fallon?!
Like seriously, look at those cold, lifeless eyes. They never blink. Constantly watching you attempt to lead a normal life, silently judging your life decisions.
Have fun sleeping tonight! Try not to think of this malicious grin in your dreams!
